Some of the Most Exciting Activities To Do in NorCal

During my travel nurse assignment in Oakland, CA, I had the opportunity to enjoy other parts of the Bay Area and Northern California (NorCal). I still have more of California to explore in the near future; however, these activities were quite exciting and entertaining. Hopefully, you will enjoy them during your visit to NorCal too!

Now let’s tRavel iN style!

Napa, California

Let’s tRavel to Brown Downtown, a black owned winery. I visited Napa (Valley) to enjoy a variety of delicious wine at the very sophisticated, upscale Brown Downtown winery that had a welcoming atmosphere from the moment I walked through the front door.  I booked a wine tasting with my family, which included tasting five different wines with individually plated, small bite pairings. We were given thank you cards that listed the wines we were tasting that day. We DEFINITELY had a great time and an amazing experience during our visit.

Monterey, California

What better way to enjoy Monterey Bay than to visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium. I went to the aquarium with my family, and I must say this aquarium was wayyy better than any that I have ever visited. The different variety of exhibits and its oceanfront location made this aquarium quite unique. For dinner, we walked from the aquarium to the nearby restaurant, The Fish Hopper. I ordered the prawns scampi, with jasmine rice and the Asian style baby back ribs, with tropical fruit relish. I thought I would not be able to eat all of the food, but the only things left on my plate were the rib bones🫣.

San Fransisco, California

You cannot visit the Bay Area without stopping by San Fransico! My family and I took the San Fransisco Hop On, Hop Off Bus Tour, which consisted of a total of 16 different stops in the San Fran area. We did not get off at every stop, but the best ones to me were in Chinatown, Union Square, the Fisherman’s Wharf, and greatest of all, the Golden Gate Bridge. You could also see Alcatraz Island from the Golden Gate Bridge.

Santa Cruz, California

I went cruising through Santa Cruz and enjoyed a few activities before leaving Cali. First, I went to The Mystery Spot, known as a tourist attraction surrounded by redwood trees, where the law of physics and gravity seemed a little tricky 🤨! There was a hiking trail to enjoy the beautiful views of the redwood trees, as well. Afterwards, we went to the boardwalk that consisted of a beautiful beach and an amusement park!

Have you ever visited NorCal?! Let me know in the comments! 😎🌞
