Rhode Island was nearly a two-hour drive from my travel nurse assignment that was located in New Hampshire. Some of the most popular cities to visit in Rhode Island were Newport and Providence (approximately 45 minutes away from each other). My travel partner and I stayed in Newport, which was my favorite of the two cities because it reminded me so much of Florida. We also drove to Providence, which seemed more like a business and college town.
Now let’s tRavel iN style!
Day 1
We stayed at a Bed & Breakfast called the Serenity Inn Newport. The location, staff, and accommodations were remarkable. Breakfast was always deliciously made to order every morning! I felt like royalty…like a true Queen!!!👑
That evening, we sailed out on the Champagne Sunset Sail cruise and enjoyed watching the magical sunset, while sipping on a glass of champagne! If you ever go on this cruise, please make sure to wear a light jacket or thin shawl; it was quite chilly and breezy. Later that evening, we ate at one of the best restaurants on the waterfront called The Black Pearl.
Day 2
After eating our delicious breakfast, we went on the Newport Glided Age Mansions Trolley Tour. We were able to visit beautiful, historical mansions, but there was one in particular that took my breath away called The Breakers. There are no words to describe how beautiful the mansion was. It is definitely a “must see”!
After the tour, we grabbed a bite to eat at the Brick Alley Pub & Restaurant, then took a stroll through the peaceful Newport Cliff Walk. It had such a serene scenery, with a panoramic view of the gorgeous ocean.
Day 3
On our last day, we stopped in Providence, RI. We went on the Discover Providence Guided Tour and strolled through the Waterplace Park, in which there were plenty of activities to choose from. One of the nighttime activities included the Brazier Society Water-Fire, where hundreds of blazing, log-filled braziers float down the river!
We ended our evening with dinner at one of the best Italian restaurants on Federal Hill, called Andino’s. I would place this restaurant on the list of my top 5 favorite Italian restaurants. Everything tasted delicious. This restaurant was said to be one of Frank Sinatra’s favorite restaurants to dine in!
