The Best Restaurants in Walnut Creek, CA

During my travel nurse assignment in Oakland, California, I spent a lot of my time in Walnut Creek, which was about a twenty minute drive from Oakland. I spent most of my time there shopping and trying out different restaurants. My favorite place to shop and eat was on Broadway Plaza, a shopping center with stores like Nordstrom, Louis Vuitton, Sephora and more! But enough about shopping…if there is one thing that I have to do when visiting a new city, it is to try to find the best restaurants. Here are the top three restaurants that I enjoyed while exploring Walnut Creek, CA…

Now let’s tRavel iN style!

1. 5 Tacos & Beers

You don’t have to wait until Tuesday to enjoy eating great tacos because I definitely didn’t wait! 5 Tacos & Beer, a Mexican restaurant, was the first restaurant that I tried in Walnut Creek, and it did not disappoint me either of the three times that I visited, lol. Those tacos were so flavorful and they were a great portion size; two tacos were truly filling. The best tacos to try were the Portobello and De Camaron Al Chipotle (shrimp) and the beef quesadilla that came with a salsa dip that was to die for! Also, I am not a big fan of beer, but they did have ciders that were delicious. My favorite cider was the You’ve Guava Be Kidding Me, which was infused with Brazilian guava, plus it was gluten free!

2. Lita

Next, I visited a Carribean-Latino, Miami inspired restaurant. I most definitely felt the tropical and welcoming vibes from the restaurant. I ordered the Lita Jerk Chicken-Caribbean Bowl that consisted of jerk chicken, rice & peas, charred pineapple guacamole, Caribbean slaw, and fried plantain. I enjoyed the meal with a refreshing mango cocktail. As far as dessert, I had the Chocolate Passion Cake that was made out of Valrhona chocolate, sesame-caramel, ganache glaze, and passionfruit sauce. Everything was on point, from the delicious taste of everything to its beautiful presentation! I was extremely satisfied.

3. Va de Vi

Lastly, one of my favorite, elegant restaurants that I liked visiting was Va de Vi, which means “It’s all about wine”. Oddly, I never ordered wine because I felt like my meal choices did not correlate with the wine options, in my opinion. During this visit, I ordered The Lechon (crispy pork belly rice cakes, pickled onions, and sweet chili-soy glaze), Blood Orange Margarita, and Stuffed Beignets. I was certainly stuffed after that incredible meal. You will not be disappointed with the service or meals this restaurant provides.

Which restaurant(s) do you think you will enjoy in Walnut Creek, CA.?! Let me know in the comments! 😋

Although I am a major fan of Caribbean cuisine, I think that I would enjoy the portabella tacos from 5Tacos&Beers the best!
